King and Queen Polka Dance Contest

KING AND QUEEN POLKA DANCE CONTEST

Dancing should be steady, continuous, lively and graceful; fancy dancing is not an asset.

Costumes are helpful, but are not necessary for the contest; although a costume IS required for the parade and the rest of the weekend.

Contestants must be 15 years old or older.

You will be dancing to polkas - no waltzes.

Can not be a previous winner.

POLKA PRINCE/PRINCESS CONTEST

Parent/Guardian must approve entry.

Age requirement: child must be age 6-10 years old

Costume not necessary for the contest but is required for the parade and the rest of the weekend.

The winner will be chosen by random drawing.

WINNERS - KING AND QUEEN, 1ST RUNNER-UP AND POLKA PRINCE/PRINCESS

Recognized in the Polka Festival Parade held Saturday, 10:00 a.m. in downtown Ennis.

Attend opening ceremonies downtown Ennis at the National Polka Festival stage.

Make appearances at each hall and recognized by National Polka Festival officers. You will receive guest passes to each hall.

Attend live broadcast of the KBEC Polka Party Sunday 10:00 a.m. - noon.

King and Queen must attend closing ceremonies at the host hall on Sunday evening at approximately 6:30pm to receive trophies.

The National Polka Festival King and Queen reigns for one year and is asked to return to the following year's dance contest to crown the next King and Queen.
